Outlined by several cities which are Laguna Hills on the southeastern part, Laguna Woods on the northern portion, and Laguna Beach on the west and southwest, the Aliso Viejo is one of the cities in Orange County, California that has an approximate population of 41,500 in the year 2007 census. It is the only city in the district that was organized from the time of 2000 where it turned into Orange County's 34th city. Because of the Aliso Viejo Cityhood 2000 Committee exertion, Aliso Viejo which was once an unorganized neighborhood from the time of 1990 were organize to become a city in the year 2001. The committee was the ones who introduce the initiative to cast a ballot for the special election of the year 2001. After becoming a city, the president of the committee, Carmen Vali-Cave, became the first city mayor. Today, this city is a headquarters to some of the big companies like the manufacturing area of an athletic shoe AND1, Quest Software, and Airbag Industries. There are also schools from elementary to high schools and a university (Soka University of America) which are located within the area. The place is also famous for its good weather all year round.
