Orange County, in California, has another notable city: Anaheim. The city population is 348,467 as of this year, in which it ranked as the 10th most populous city in California, making the city as the 54th most populous in the nation. The city expects the population to exceed 400,000 five years from now, because of the rushing developments in the Platinum Triangle area, the same thing with Anaheim Hills. Anaheim is secondly the largest populous city in the Orange County and being the second widest land area following Irvine. The city’s thrilling theme parks, glorious sports teams, and convention center has made the city famous. In 1857, fifty German families established the City of Anaheim. On February 10, 1870, the city grew as an industrial center, producing top-of-the-line electronics, and manufacturing canned fruits and aircraft parts. The city is became the center of the world–famous Disneyland Resort that began during 1955. The Angel Stadium of Anaheim is the biggest convention center on the American west coast along with the Honda Center and the Anaheim Convention Center. The name Anaheim is derived from the word Santa Ana River which is “Ana” and the “hemi” is from the German common place which is compound, meaning “home”. Anaheim city bound from Cypress in the west, east of Riverside County, is surrounded by a different group of communities. On the other hand, Anaheim Hills is known to be for the wealthier society, with different sports stars and executives in the eastern part of the city. In the 1950s, West Anaheim was widely known because of its more cultured neighborhood that consisted of continuous provincial sites from Los Angeles.
