A community in the Newport Beach, California which has an estimate population of 13,400 residents according to the year 2000 statistics is Corona del Mar. Got its name from a Spanish language meaning "Crown of the Sea", this community mostly contains land areas which are facing toward the sea. There are a lot of beaches nearby including Corona del Mar State Beach, and Crystal Cove State Park (which is south of Corona del Mar). Both beaches are within reach through taking a winding course down a steep hillock. The area was already inhabited way back 20th century and the original region of the community contains mostly of contiguous, single family homes with different designs and are situated mainly near the Pacific Coast Highway or also known as State Route 1. At present, many new and well developed structures can be seen in the area with designs likes California ranch houses and has broad ocean views. Some of the interesting spots in this community are the Fashion Island and the Sherman Library and Gardens. TV series are also filmed in this area like the Arrested Development which is a Fox series and is a setting for a Dean Koontz novel, False Memory. |
