Culver City

Situated in the western portion of Los Angeles County, California having an estimated population of 38,900 the city of Culver is said to be the region that is mainly encircled by the cities of Los Angeles but also has a boundary with unorganized regions of Los Angeles County. From the 1920s, this city has been an important area for cinematography and afterwards, television production due to the MGM Studios that is located in this city. The Hughes Aircraft Company is also located in this region since 1932 until 1985. Today, Sony Pictures Entertainment has a base in this city. Hundreds of years ago, Native Americans called Gabrielino dwell in this area. In 1913, the city was established by Harry Culver, and was then organized in September 20, 1917 where its original announcement says "All roads lead to Culver City" signifying a main transportation course through the city. There are several landmarks located in this area. The city's main street is believed to be the shortest main street in the whole world. The King Fahd Mosque is also situated in this city where it can hold above 2,000 worshippers. The mosque has a minaret or a tower or turret that measures more than 21 m (70 feet) tall. The Holy Cross Cemetery is also one of its landmarks where the legendary punk Darby Crash and King Farouk's mother Nazli Sabri were buried.
