Fountain Valley is a city in Orange County, California, United States. The area approximate population as of this year was 58,309. Fountain Valley is a typical bedroom community and a middle-class residential area. The area bordered Fountain Valley is mainly occupied by the Tongva people. The European agreement of the area started during Manuel Nieto acknowledge Rancho Los Nietos to cover over 300,000 acres involves presently the Fountain Valley. The governance of the land was transferred afterward to Mexico during the independence from Spain, and then to the United States in associate to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The city was established in 1957, formerly called as Talbert. Fountain Valley is determined from the water table in the area and some similar artesian wells at that time. The ancient settlers develop drainage canals in order to generate the land to be accessible for agriculture, in which remains the primary usable land up to 1960s. Fountain Valley is a place or a home for Mile Square Regional Park during the developing period of biggest housing areas, a 640 acres area which includes lakes, three 18-hole golf courses, playing fields, picnic areas, and a 20-acre public nature area full of native plants grown in California. There is also a recreational area, which is 55 acres wide, with a gymnasium, courts for basketball, tennis and racquetball, and the Kingston Boys & Girls Club. Kingston Boys & Girls Club is also a center for community and the new senior center that started June in the past four years. This year the main reconstruction and managing of the recreational area and sports field was completed.
