Seal Beach

Seal Beach is a metropolitan area in the county of Orange, state of California. As of the Millennium Statistical studies the area population was 24,157, and established on October 25, 1915. Seal Beach is found in the westernmost corner of Orange County, northwest across the border of Los Angeles County, beside the city of Long Beach and bordering San Pedro Bay. Southeast of Huntington Harbour, which are the neighborhood of Huntington Beach, and the unorganized community of Sunset Beach? In the east part which is Westminster and the neighborhood of West Garden Grove as a part of the city of Garden Grove. In the north is the Rossmoor which is the unorganized community and the city of Los Alamitos. In the ancient times the Seal Beach is formerly called “Anaheim Landing”. Meaning, the boat landing and seashore recreation area called after the adjacent town of Anaheim. During the 20th century Seal Beach was called as Bay City, but the name Bay City is already occupied by one of the area in Northern California. October 25, 1915 is the time the town is called Seal Beach. It became famous as a recreational destination area and promoted a beach-side amusement park after the establishment of Disneyland. The U.S. Navy’s Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach was mainly established in World War II for loading, unloading, and storing of weapons for the Pacific Fleet, and particularly the U.S. Navy warships home-ported in Long Beach and San Diego, California. Together with the seal of the Concord Naval Weapons Station located in Northern California, it became the major source of weapon for a majority of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
